Sarah Jarosz (born May 23, 1991) is an American musician and singer-songwriter from Texas. Her first CD, Song Up in Her Head, was released in 2009 and the song “Mansinneedof” was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Country Instrumental Performance. Her second album, Follow Me Down, was released in 2011.

In 2010 Jarosz recorded the album, “Follow Me Down” and shared production duties with Gary Paczosa. The album was recorded in Nashville, TN and features guest musicians Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas, Stuart Duncan, Viktor Krauss, Dan Tyminski, Shawn Colvin, Darrell Scott, and bandmates Alex Hargreaves and Nathaniel Smith.

A session with the Punch Brothers in New York produced a cover of the Radiohead song “The Tourist”. An American Songwriter reviewer wrote that “Jarosz invites us along with her into a growing sonic space of collaboration and artistry at this the second step in what will surely be a long and productive musical journey”.

In 2011 Sarah performed at Jerry Douglas’ the Transatlantic Sessions in Scotland. She performed Bob Dylan’s “Ring Them Bells”

Donell Jones (born May 22, 1973) is an American R&B singer, songwriter and record producer.
He is most notable for the hits “U Know What’s Up,” “Where I Wanna Be,” and his cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Knocks Me Off My Feet”. Jones broke to the music scene in the late 1990s with the release of his second album, Where I Wanna Be.

In 1996, Donell Jones was signed with Untouchables/LaFace Records by DJ Eddie F of Heavy D and The Boyz and released his debut album, My Heart, which included the hit cover of Stevie Wonder’s 1976 ballad “Knocks Me Off My Feet”.

It wasn’t until 1999, however, that Jones began to establish himself as a true R&B hit maker with his second album, Where I Wanna Be. The album yielded number-one hits such as “U Know What’s Up”, produced by Eddie F and Darren Lighty which featured TLC member Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopes and the title track. Other hits included “Shorty Got Her Eyes on Me” and “This Luv”. The album went on to sell over one million copies and garnered Jones an American Music Award.
In 2000, Jones recorded the song “I’ll Go” for the Love and Basketball soundtrack.

Jones released his third album in 2002, the gold-selling Life Goes On album. It featured the hits, “You Know That I Love You” (#16 R&B), “Don’t Leave” featuring G-Wise and “Put Me Down” featuring Styles P..

Four years later in 2006 Jones released his fourth album, Journey of a Gemini which included the Tim & Bob produced song “I’m Gonna Be”. It had moderate success reaching #40 on Urban AC. “Spend The Night” also received notable airplay.
Donell Jones’ album, Lyrics, was released on September 28, 2010 under E1 Music.

Jacqueline Denise Welch (born 22 May 1958) is an English actress, dancer and television presenter best known for her roles as Natalie Barnes in Coronation Street and Steph Haydock in Waterloo Road, and for presenting on Loose Women from 2002 onwards. Welch had been a contestant on Dancing on Ice, in January 2011, partnered with Matt Evers. In January 2012, Welch was crowned the winner of Celebrity Big Brother.

In 2002 Welch guest-starred in ITV’s Where the Heart Is, and BBC’s hospital drama Holby City, playing risk manager Pam McGrath who conducted an on-screen relationship with the character Mubbs Hussein (played by Ian Aspinall). She has guest-starred twice in ITV’s long-running police drama The Bill (1997; 2006) and has also appeared in BBC’s Doctors (2004); Down to Earth (2004–2005); Born and Bred (2002–2003); starred (second billing) in the British feature film The Jealous God (2005); and starred in Hollyoaks: In the City (2006) among others. From 2006 to 2010 she appeared as French teacher Steph Haydock in BBC’s successful drama series Waterloo Road, and played Janet Gold (Goldie) in an episode called “Rogue” of the long-running programme, Casualty, which aired on 2 July 2011.

Welch originally won the role as Frances Myers in Bad Girls, but ended up declining it owing to illness at the time; her future Waterloo Road co-star Eva Pope received the part instead. Welch left Waterloo Road and intended not to return for series 6, but eventually decided to return for the last two episodes.
Via the BenidormTweets Twitter feed, it was revealed that Denise will have a part in the upcoming series 4 of Benidorm. She played the part of ‘Scary Mary’ alongside her husband Tim Healy.

In 2012, played Truvy in the touring production of Steel Magnolias.
In 2013, Denise played the part of Catherine Robinson in Richard Bean’s Smack Family Robinson at the Rose Theatre in Kingston.

Bryan Danielson  (born May 22, 1981) is an American professional wrestler signed to WWE and performing under the ring nameDaniel Bryan. He has also been known by the ring name, and later nickname, the American Dragon.

In major promotions, Danielson is a six-time World Champion; a one-time World Heavyweight Champion in WWE, a one-time Ring of Honor World Champion, a two-time Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion, a one-time Full Impact Pro World Champion and a one-time wXw World Champion.

As well as these World Championships, Danielson also won the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship once in Pro Wrestling Noahand is officially recognized as the final ROH Pure Champion, as he unified the Pure Title with the ROH World title in 2006.  He also won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship in New Japan Pro Wrestling with Curry Man.

Until 2010, Danielson primarily competed (under his real name) in Ring of Honor (ROH) and on the independent circuit  in promotions such as Full Impact Pro (FIP) and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG).

He has also worked internationally, most notably in Pro Wrestling Noah through ROH’s involvement in the Global Professional Wrestling Alliance, a global organization of cooperative promotions that allow their competitors to travel abroad to other companies. He also competed in a handful of matches in WWE in 2003, before signing an actual contract with the company in 2009.

In June 2010, shortly after the end of the first season of the WWE NXT show in which Danielson participated, WWE announced that he had been released from his contract. He returned to WWE in August at SummerSlam, and won the WWE United States Championship the following month.  On July 17, 2011, Bryan won the SmackDown Money in the Bank ladder match. On December 18, 2011, at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view Bryan cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on Big Show to become World Heavyweight Champion in 45 seconds.

Thessaloniki, May 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) There was a flood of frogs on a highway in Greece, which has managed to close down the highway for hours. Greek officials confirmed that one of the critical northern highways was closed for a couple of hours, due to the unexpected swarm of frogs.

Thessaloniki traffic police chief of the town of – Giorgos Thanoglou said that, there were millions of frogs that had thoroughly carpeted the highway. This happened on Wednesday, near the city of Langadas, which is located around 12 miles east of Thessaloniki. Giorgos Thanoglou said that, “There was a carpet of frogs.”

According to reports, the traffic on the highway was affected due to the ‘flood of the frogs’ and three car drivers also skidded away from the road, when they tried to swerve their car in order to avoid hitting the frogs present on the road. However fortunately no causalities were reported, due to the invasion of the road by the frogs.

It is still not clear, as to why there was a flood of millions of frogs on the road, but the traffic police chief Giorgos is speculating that one of the reasons could be the lack of food at their place of inhabitation.

A castell  is a human tower built traditionally in festivals at many locations within Catalonia. At these festivals, several colles castelleres or teams often succeed in building and dismantling a tower’s structure. On November 16, 2010, castells were declared by UNESCO to be amongst the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

A castell is considered a success when stages of its assembling and disassembling, can be done in complete succession. The assembly is complete once all castellers have climbed into their designated places, and the enxaneta climbs into place at the top and raises one hand with four fingers erect, in a gesture said to symbolize the stripes of the Catalan flag. The enxaneta then climbs down the other side of the castell, after which the remaining levels of castellers descend in highest-to-lowest order until all have reached safety.

Aside from the people who climb to form the upper parts of the tower, others are needed to form the pinya, or bottom base of the castell, to sustain its weight. Members of the pinya (most often men)  also act as a ‘safety net’ if the tower structure collapses, cushioning the fall of people from the upper levels. It is not uncommon—when not in competitions—for other colles to assist in the pinya when a small colla is attempting a specially demanding structure in terms of people needed.

The castell is built in two phases. First, the pinya—the base of the tower—is formed. People forming higher levels of the tower move to a position from which they can easily get to their place in the tower. This is done slowly and carefully, and as subsequent base levels are completed the castellers in the pinya determine if their base is solid enough for construction to continue. Then, when the signal to proceed is given, bands begin to play the traditional Toc de Castells music as a hush comes over spectators of the event. The upper layers of the tower are built as quickly as possible in order to put minimal strain on the lower castellers, who bear most of the weight of the castell. The disassembly of the castell, done amidst the cheering of the crowd, is often the most treacherous stage of the event.

There is a form of the Castell, generally referred to as ‘rising’, in which each successive layer is added from the bottom by lifting the castell into the air, stage by stage.

Among them were Mueck’s latest work, “A Girl”. The exhibition also included two short films about the artist, covering both his artistic background and his production Techniques.

An exhibition was held at The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, from 12 December 2007 through 30 March 2008. “Ron Mueck at The Andy Warhol Museum” featured seven of the artist’s realistic human sculptures, including: In Bed; A Girl; Wild Man; Spooning Couple; Man in a Boat; Mask II; and Mask III.

A major exhibition of his work was shown as part of the Edinburgh Festival at the Royal Scottish Academy Building until 1 October 2006.

A solo exhibition of nine works by Ron Mueck was presented at the Brooklyn Museum from 3 November 2006 through 4 February 20

The longest recorded human neck reached 40 cm in length and was created by the successive fitting of copper coils, as practiced by the women of the Padaung or Kareni tribe of Myanmar as a sign of beauty.

Their necks eventually become so long and weak that they cannot support their heads without the coils. According to tribal custom, even before they reach puberty, girls must start wearing iron coils around their necks and more and more are added through the years. In some tribes the coils are removed to punish women who have committed adultery.

Chang Du a 47 year old man from Lishuguo, central China has a swelling chin that started as a tiny pimple inside his mouth just five years ago. The hospital in Luoyang has said that Chang Du needs a lower jaw replacement.

The Smallest House in Great Britain, also known as the Quay House, is a tourist attraction on the quay in Conwy, Wales. The house, which has a floor area of 3.05 metre by 1.8 metre (10 feet by 6 feet) and a height of 10 feet 2 inches,was used as a residence from the 16th century until 1900; as its name indicates, it is reputed to be Britain’s smallest house.
The house was lived in until 1900, when the owner was a 6 ft 3 inch (1.9 meters) fisherman named Robert Jones. The rooms were too small for him to stand up in fully and he was eventually forced to move out when the council declared the house unfit for human habitation. The house is still owned by his descendants. In June 2006, there was a 50% loss of tourists to the house because of nearby roadworks.

This house is currently red. It stands near the Conwy Castle walls and people can enter for £1.00 (or 50p for children). There is information about the house inside. A Welsh lady in traditional clothing stands outside most days. The upstairs is so minute that there is room only for one bed and a bedside cabinet. Visitors are unable to go upstairs to the first floor, due to structural instability, but can view it from the step ladder.
There’s just about enough room for one stove, a water tap, a bedside cabinet and a bed.

Jack Gleeson (born 20 May 1992) is an Irish actor, best known for his portrayal of Joffrey Baratheon in the HBO television series Game of Thrones.

Gleeson was born in Cork, Ireland. He started acting at the age of seven in the Independent Theatre Workshop. Gleeson’s first roles in feature films were minor roles in Batman Begins (2005), Shrooms (2007) and A Shine of Rainbows (2009). In 2010 he appeared in a leading role in Alicia Duffy’s All Good Children. The reviewer for the Variety magazine considered Gleeson “the pic’s big discovery”.

Gleeson stars in HBO’s Game of Thrones as Joffrey Baratheon. He was announced in the role on 19 July 2009. Gleeson was part of the initial starring cast and remains a member of the cast for the second and third seasons. He cites Joaquin Phoenix as Commodus in Gladiator as an influence on his portrayal of Joffrey. Gleeson is a student of Trinity College, Dublin, and a member of DU Players. In 2012, he was awarded a scholarship at the same university. Gleeson has indicated an intention to pursue an academic career rather than a professional acting career, once his work on Game of Thrones is completed.

Gleeson is also the founder and artistic director of Collapsing Horse Theatre Company, which is based in Dublin.

Sendhil Ramamurthy (born May 17, 1974) is an American actor. He is best known for his roles as geneticist Mohinder Suresh in the NBC Sci-Fi drama Heroes and Jai Wilcox in the Action Spy series Covert Affairs. He appeared in the film Shor in the City. He is currently portraying the role of Gabriel Lowen in The CW sci-fi romance series Beauty and the Beast.

Ramamurthy has appeared in theatrical productions of A Servant of Two Masters in London’s West End, Indian Ink at the Soho Repertory Theatre, and East Is East at the Manhattan Theatre Club. His film credits include Love & Debate (originally titled Thanks to Gravity), Orient Express, Blind Dating, Little India, Shor in the City  and Gurinder Chadha’s comedy film It’s a Wonderful Afterlife. In addition, he has appeared on several TV shows, including Ellen, Casualty, Guiding Light, Grey’s Anatomy, Ultimate Force, CSI: Miami, Heroes,  Covert Affairs and Numbers.

He made a conscious decision to not audition for stereotypical Indian roles, although he has been offered such parts.  Ramamurthy’s role on Heroes was his biggest to date. Although the character of Mohinder Suresh was originally written for a 55-year-old, his audition tape and screen test were convincing enough for writers to rewrite the part for Ramamurthy.

In 2000, he appeared in NBC’s television miniseries In the Beginning in the role of Adam.
Ramamurthy guest starred in a season four episode of Psych titled “Bollywood Homicide”, directed by Jay Chandrasekhar.
Ramamurthy joined the cast of the USA Network show Covert Affairs as Jai Wilcox from the second episode onward, replacing character Conrad Sheehan III, played by Eric Lively in the pilot. The show premiered in July 2010.  His character was written out of the show in the premiere of season 3.
In 2012, Ramamurthy appeared in the eighth season of The Office as Kelly Kapoor’s new boyfriend, Ravi.
On December 19, 2012, it was announced that he would appear in the CW show Beauty and the Beast as Gabriel Lowen, an assistant district attorney.

Ott Lepland (born 17 May 1987) is an Estonian singer, who is best known as the winner of the third season of Eesti otsib superstaari. Lepland represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan with the song “Kuula” placing 6th in the final.
Lepland has been singing since he was a child. He released four albums with children songs in 1995 and 1996. At the moment Lepland is studying at Georg Ots’ Tallinn Music School pop and jazz singing. He has also studied piano for ten years.

Ott has performed in several plays, including the role of Troy Bolton in Estonian State Puppet & Youth Theatre’s musical, the Estonian version of High School Musical.

In 2010, Lepland released his self-titled first album after winning the Estonian version of Pop Idol. The self-titled album consists of 12 songs, including singles “Otsides ma pean su jälle leidma”, “Süte peal sulanud jää”, etc.
In December 2010, a fan book of Lepland was released, it is titled “Lubage mul olla. Ott Lepland.” (Let me be. Ott Lepland) with subtitle “8 kuud superstaarina” (8 months as a superstar).

In 2011, Ott participated in another TV3 TV show Laulupealinn (Capital of songs/singing), where Ott represented Estonian town Kärdla. Every week, Lepland had to perform with partners from Kärdla or Hiiu County, including his grandmother, nephew, and a local mixed choir. Lepland won the show and Kärdla has now the title of Singing Capital of Estonia.
His second album Laulan ma sind was released in November 2011.
